1008 Cold Rolled Steel Plate
This alloy is typically utilized for “commercial quality” cold rolled steel sheet. It is a cost-effective, versatile steel grade that provides moderate strength and toughness. Commonly used in low-stress applications, 1008 steel is known for its excellent weldability (spot, projection, butt, and fusion) and brazeability. Its applications include extruded, cold headed, cold upset, and cold pressed parts and forms. Additionally, it offers a superior surface finish compared to hot rolled A36.
